Effect of recreational physical activities on health related components of physical fitness of adolescents in secondary schools in Gboko local government area of Benue state, Nigeria

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate effect recreational physical activities on five health-related components fitness adolescents in secondary schools Gboko Local Government Area. Methodology: employed Quasi-experimental research design. population comprised Twenty-four thousand, six hundred and thirty-four- (24,634) Secondary School adolescents’ students private public 2020/2021 academic session 200 participants (students) were sampled for using multistage sampling technique. University Pretoria’s HRF index protocol used data collection study. calculate health related adolescents. Inferential statistics t-test analyse differences between Control Group at 0.05 level significance. Results: Results revealed that: Recreational have a significant body composition; cardiovascular fitness; muscular strength; endurance flexibility Recommendations: Based findings, it recommended that should further improve their intensity participation both home school order maximise total fitness.
